Opua is a very open school and we encourage parents to be involved with their children’s education and to communicate freely with teachers, the principal, other staff, and trustees.
If you have questions, suggestions, or concerns about any aspect of the school, please do not hesitate to raise them with your child’s teacher (or any other member of staff, as appropriate).
Since June 2015, the Board of Trustees holds open forums for parents in which virtually any school related issue can be brought up and discussed. These take place about a week and half before each scheduled board meeting, thus allowing scope for items to be added to that meeting’s agenda. Of course, you are also free to contact the board or individual trustees at any other time, in person or by writing.
If, however, you have concerns that cannot be satisfactorily resolved through this sort of ordinary communication, a formal complaints procedure exists. For more information please click here.
