Dear whanau,

We are now on the last day of our school year. It has been another busy one but we are all grateful that school life, and all our varied learning activities, are ‘back on line’ as we manoeuvre through the post-pandemic world. We had a lovely Prizegiving on Tuesday celebrating all our children and the progress they have made. Particularly, we farewelled our Year 8s who have just returned from an amazing experience on Great Barrier Island. Specifically, thank you and congratulations to our Dux and Head Girl, Scarlett Halliday, who also took out the Hannah Tipene Sports Award for Girls and the Margaret Lange Excellence in the Arts trophy, and our Head Boy and winner of the Mathematics and Sports trophies, Bailey Smith.

A reminder to all parents: if your child does not hand to you their end-of-year school report today [Wednesday, 14th December], it is probably hiding at the foot of their school bag for you to retrieve!

Our first day of 2023 is on Wednesday, 1st February with school beginning at the usual 9am. The school office will be open from Friday, 27th January but closed on Monday, 30th January for Auckland Anniversary Day.

Thank you to all our children and parents/caregivers, to our wonderful trustees, to our hard-working P.T.A.  and, of course, to all the staff who always put the children’s well-being, interests, and learning front and centre of what they do. I wish you all a relaxing, happy and safe holiday. See you in 2023!

Meri Kirihimete me te tau hou,

Simon McGowan
